It did not have a cal listed and is not marked for one. I assumed 32 S&W short.  I was wrong. It is a 38 S&W. Basically a 38 special with a case .775 long ans a .361 bullet.  It was a ball uf rust. I cleaned it and ordered ammo. I made ammo from 38 special cases and .357 bullets. It wasn't awful. The factory ammo showed up today. 5 rounds at 10 yards. LOLOLOL I have done this a few times now.  I'm speechless. LOL

This seems very much like a @Handsome Rob post, lol! Next thing you know, you'll be painting it black and telling people you created a .361 Magnum ;o)

Seriously, that's an interesting find. Seems to shoot suprisingly well, and that's a huge bonus. Heck, for $50 and some of your time and effort, you got a winner there. Any "before" pictures?

Did the first box of ammo cost as much as the gun? Inquiring minds want to know LOL

U S Revolver was built by Iver Johnson. May reports say they were higher quality than the S&W they copied. I have one, not fired it yet. Had an Iver Johson but sold it. Both of mine had exposed hammers. Yep @BigK 38 S&W ammo is ridiculous if you find it.

Does you cylinder turn backward when trigger isn't engaged??

Both of mine and others I've seen free spin if trigger is not engaged. Will turn both directions.

It was rust a nickel.  It'll be oily steel or blue in the end. After I file and sand it down  we'll see.

No. Only counter clockwise.
