New self defense revolver.  Saw a YouTube review of it and looks good.

No experience with Diamondback and am wondering if this is actually made in Fl as claimed.

Well, when they become available will have to check one out.

Looks interesting. It is a six shooter. That kinda gets my attention. I'd like to get one in my hands before passing judgement.

AFAIK Diamondback is a mid-tier gun maker. I believe they started out with a pocket 9 that was of dubious quality. But I checked their website and it seems they've expanded to much more.

Looks like it is a close copy of the Kimber revolver-

Yes and their early pistols look suspiciously like imported designs. Not saying they are, just have questions. Would probably get the new revolver if it is actually made here. It’s a nice price and feature set.

I like the idea of a removable cylinder for cleaning.

Most all manufacturers make it so you can remove the cylinder-

You have to remove a screw and a detent mostly-

Yes, this one requires no tools, just push a button. One thing I dislike about bright stainless is the amount of powder residue and discoloration that accumulates on the face of the cylinder. Call me obsessive, but seems this would make it quicker to clean that off. Could be wrong.

Yes, but its not recommended for routine cleaning. It doesn't take a lot of wear before a screw starts backing out during firing. Only take it out when you really need to.

That is a neat idea.  I love revolvers but absolutely hate cleaning them.  It is an awkward process with things spinning around and flopping about.

I wonder how this design will hold up and respond to unintentional pushings of that button.

I am curious if this wear out and effects cylinder play

Would need to watch review again but think it only supposed to disengage when the hammer is cocked.   Would have to see it to fully understand

A friend and coworker carried one of their micro 9mm pistols for years. Snappy but a solid shooter. It was nothing special on the fit and finish level but nothing glaringly bad. A far step ahead of an SCCY and a step behind a Shield Plus or P365. Based on his experience and mine shooting it I would give this a look. Not much of a revolver fellow but if the price was right...

Supposedly the list price is 777 dollars.

Which is about $177 more than I would be interested in. If they they can be had for $550~$625 out in the real world maybe...
$700+ is getting into proven reliable tried and true name brand territory so the question will become why try the Diamond Back.

I had a terrible experience with the DB380 when they first came out. Each time one would break, they sent me a new gun. After 3 guns failed my LGS gave me a full refund.  I am sure their arms today are better quality.

I have a Taurus 692 that changes cylinders with the push of a button. Swaps .357 cylinder out for a 9mm very quickly. No problems so far but time will tell. Very convenient at the range.

Was not aware of that feature. Might look for one in a gun store. However I personally hate ported barrels on handguns. There is enough muzzle flash on a 357 from a regular barrel.

jmo. And the rest of it looks fine. Congrats

I will stick with tried and true S W. Purchased a 3" 686 + last year. 7 rounds of 357 or 38 Spl can't be beat IMO!
