SDS “Inglis” Hi Powers

Knoxville’s own SDS Imports now has a new line of Turkish Hi Powers under the “Inglis” brand name.  That name might just be bootlegged, but the offerings look good, as does the price. I saw one of the color case hardened versions the other day and it was a sight to behold.

No.  I lost all sense of reason the week before and splurged on a new SA-35.

I’m absolutely loving this resurgence of the HiPower. It’s making me think of a number of years back when various manufacturers started making their own 1911s.

If that's real color case hardening, and not some chemical bath like the early Rugers, then I'm probably going to have to buy one of those guns.

Yep, The Hi-Power is my favorite 9mm pistol. I was hurt when Browning quit making them. But it seems that many others are stepping up to the plate. 

As for the Inglis, I'll take a good look. But doubt I'll buy. After all, I already have 5 variations of the Hi-Power as it is.

I've been reading more about these guns, although so far there doesn't seem to be a lot of reliable info available.  And some of it is contradictory -- for example, whether the barrels are stainless or 4140. Sources disagree.

From looking at the photos, it appears that there's not a pin in the trigger, which encourages me to think that perhaps they've done away with the magazine safety.  

Maybe we should note in this thread any sightings of these guns at TN gun stores?  I will probably get either the L9A1 or the case-hardened model, if -- as I mentioned before -- it's real case hardening.

The specs say hard chromed finish 4140 steel barrels.  There is no mag disconnect safety.

if you can make it through all the blah, blah, blah, this guy unboxes one of the color cased ones.
