So you actually considered calling the TV station, before you even took the time to speak to someone face to face in the actual branch?

You should probably give up right now.

Never said that, but if they give me a hassle, it might not be a bad idea!

One thing i did not mention, the letter said i should have the issuer(s) make the new check(s) out to the Bank! :)

Let me get this right: you deposit checks through ATM and you instantly get a photocopy of those checks on your ATM receipt?

Yes, I use Bank of America, and that's how their ATM's work. The copy of the check actually shows up on the screen before it prints out. It's possibly more of a "scan" of the check, but all the same, you get a copy of the check on the receipt.

x2 BoA's new ATMs rock...I never have a reason to go inside anymore. I can deposit multiple checks and cash at the same time, get confirmation images on my receipt and instant account credit w/ cash deposits up until 8pm.

Yep! I've heard some people complain about BoA, but I've been with them for several years, and not a single issue. They even instantly credited my account almost $800 when I told them someone used my banking info to pay several cell phone bills.

Yeah, I seldom go inside for much of anything...

All the above the same with First TN 'cept the scan image thing ... which I admit is way cool...

I cant go to the local branch, since both letter's came from Atlanta,Ga. and the phone and fax numbers as well as the Envelope in which they want me to resent the Check's to, is in Atlanta,Ga.

The way this Bank works, it is way over the head of a local Branch!

I just wonder, if i do nothing, if they could take the $629.99 out of my acccount?

Not if you walk into your LOCAL branch like nothing happened, and close your account.

The only problem I have with changing banks is the fact that sooner or later their all going to burn ya. It's always something. Hours, People, Policy, Fee's, you name it.. I have been with Regions for the past several years and don't plan on changing again. It's just not worth the trouble anymore.

Most likely there's a "pending" action on the account and they will not let you close it. If you are able to close it. they may come after ya later.

Still, its their mistake. I would give them the names and contact info for the folks that wrote the checks, tell them its their problem cause they lost the checks...if they wont let you close it, drain it to zero and cut up the ATM card.

Agreed but draining the account will make it go negative if nothing is done and they debit the account. Then you'll have more crap to deal with. If you ignore it, they will eventually send it to collections.

It's a never ending pile of BS.

Went to Suntrust and talked to mgr!

She thanked me fo helping them out and i would not have lost any money under any circumstances and even could close out my acct. and they would not try to get the $629. back.

So i gave them the info, as to whom the checks were from!

Here is the process of using the ATM's at Suntrust, you list all checks on dep. ticket and then the info. on the envelpoe and then punch amt. in Comp. which print's said amt. on you receipt.

The following day, the bank opens the envelope's and credits yor acct. for that amt. on each check, but does not keep up with whom they check's were from, but only the amt.

Then all check's get sent to a processing center, where they make

copies of the check's and have them re-imbursed, well this center was robbed and all check's were stolen before they could be copied or further processed, so the robber's did get a lot of info such as Name,Adress and Acct. nos.

The Mgr. did tell me, they are having some problem's getting in touch with Govt. Agencies, IRS, Soc.Sec. etc, but the bank decided not to even bother with trying to get a refund on any check's for under $50.

So all turned out well, except you never know if the thieves will try to sell all this private info????????????????????????????????????????????????????

See how easy that was? Glad your money is safe, and you didn't have to hassle with changing banks.

Glad it all turned out. I felt your grief and as a long time customer of SunTrust, I had my doubts they would do the right thing. These banks have just gotten soo big.

They main reason i was really worried is this! Yrs. ago i had a acct. there and closed it after a few yrs. A month later i got a letter, that they had messed up, during closing my acct. and i still owed them $7.99!

10 yrs later i opened another acct. and when i did the $7.99 from 10 yrs. earlier showed up and was subtracted during my re-opening!

Also, when i got my monthly statement for 1 of my check. accts. there were 2 charges for $10. each (for high check amounts) as well as a $15. maint. fee, even though i had been told it would never have any fees for anything on it! Found out also today, the reason was, that the 3 check's i had written earlier last month, of which each was over $8.000 totalling $25.000 ended up reducing my balance, to $100. below $25.000 and thus they charged a maint. fee and two $10. high check fee's, but did not charge a high check fee on the 3rd one.

The Mrg. refunded my $35. for it and i told her, it seems like you all are making up stuff as time goes, she said i was not properly informed, when i opened that acct. Yea, right, but she could not answer as to why only 2 of 3 checks were charged a High-check Fee.

So i closed that 1 acct. out, and i just have to watch these folks, since they had ripped my acct. that month for $35. which i did get back, but that still wasn't right!:D
