At least that is according to US surgeon general Dr. Vivek Murthy.

Murthy calls on the U.S. to ban automatic rifles, introduce universal background checks for purchasing guns, regulate the industry, pass laws that would restrict their use in public spaces and penalize people who fail to safely store their weapons.

None of those suggestions can be implemented nationwide without legislation passed by Congress, which typically recoils at gun control measures. Some state legislatures, however, have enacted or may consider some of the surgeon general’s proposals.

Amazing that the article does not include the real reason for increased gun violence is the lack of prosecution and punishment of criminals using the existing laws that are already on the books due to liberal judges, DA's, sheriffs and defund the police actions along with allowing "minor" crimes to be committed with absolutely no consequences.

We don't have a "gun" violence problem. We have a violence problem. The gun is just the preferred weapon of choice. 

Mental illness has reached epidemic proportions and young people place no value on human life. Thus you have people trying to settle small disputes by shooting each other. Put the blame where it really belongs.

Wait, they want to get rid of guns ?? 

 

They have been going after guns for as long as I can remember. From "assault weapons" which do not exist, to semi automatics, to bump stocks, to arm braces, to suppressors, to armor piercing incendiary rounds.....and the list continues to grow. Do not get all frothed up over these f_ck fc-ck games - We the People will stand strong, there are more of us than them.

I put a lot of the blame on the parents and the liberal education system. Kids are being taught that life should be fair and everybody is entitled to a good life. When it doesn't work out that way, they can't handle it. Some take out their frustrations with violence and others just go nuts.

They are also taught that there are very few repercussions for their actions.
