Here's hopin all the wheelgun men will opine on the little Ruger 101 pistola.  They have been around a long while, are hell for stout, all stainless, and appear to be relatively simple to work on ( if they need any work ).

I have shot an SP101 a few times but have never owned one. They are robust, good looking revolvers.

They make a blued version now that I’ve been keen on since they came out a few years ago.

I think over the years, I’ve had 3. They’re good, but never was something I was just totally enamored with. I think it was the rate of weight to size, in all instances. Just too heavy to be a true pocket pistol for me. I think a 3” might make a good belt gun, though.

Thanks Moped...

The weight is the biggest issue for me too... I am convinced it would have to be carried as a belt gun...

A Smith model 36 is about the heaviest all steel revolver I think ya can pocket carry; and it's a bit heavy, unless ya wear overalls or dungarees.

Thanks a bunch.

I don’t have a double action Ruger or Taurus and never shot either but I’ve been looking for a 327 Fed Mag for range fun mainly to shoot home loads in 32 S&W Long and been considering both. My dealer Carrie’s Taurus and Ruger but unfortunately doesn’t have a 327. I’m looking at the SP101 and just handling the 357 version I’m impressed. I own and have owned quite a few Single Action and 22 auto Rugers and the SP101 looks like the kind of quality I’ve experienced with their SA and autos. The trigger is smooth but a little heavy but I imagine that’ll improve with use.
