WELL, 90 DAYS ON THE DOT, MY PERMIT FINALLY CAME TODAY!!! Was beginning to give up hope. I called them a week ago Monday and they said 7 to 10 days and it took 9. I guess everyone was right, you have to call them to make it move. Bought a new XD 3" .40 cal last week in anticipation, now just waiting for the holster to come.

I ordered a Galco "Stow-'N-Go". Not sure when it will get here, you know the old "we'll get a batch together and then we'll order" routine. So in the meantime I picked up an XD paddle that works real good. The holster that comes with the XD sucks, even with the retention totally released it practically takes two hands to get the gun out of the holster.

Doesnt it feel different when you get to finally see that all elusive piece of plastic that says I am legal. You ask your wife-PSSST-can you see anything, and you suddenly realize, why am I so paranoid.

CONGRATS!

No need to wait for the holster. You can always carry Mexican Style to your local Wally World. We'll understand.

I also tried this, hurt the rubies.

My wife isn't really sure about all this carry stuff, however she did put my permit on our big mail paperclip in the middle of the kitchen counter so I would be sure to see it when I came home from work today. My son-in-law just sent his paperwork in last week (out in Paris) so he's starting to play the waiting game now. And "70below", I AM 18 (with 48 years experience) and the measurements ain't pretty.....

Congratulations. I remember when I was where you are now. Now go to WalMart and watch the sheep stare at you.

My wife does not like guns. When I got my permit and started carrying she ask why, I said " I just want to protect you and my family" she has said nothing else.
