Anyone from Wilson County Laguardo area?

Recommended Posts

Hey guys,

Thinking of buying ten acres or more in the Leguardo Area of Wilson County. Does anyone live in the area and do people shoot on their property there?

I want to build a Spec Range with all the safety features such as a 17’ berm etc.

it seems everything is out of city limits in this area which I am posting a pic of. I don’t want be a nuisance to my neighbors but on the same note I want to be able to use my right to shoot in my own land. I would be as respectful as possible and also try and utilize sound barriers and not shoot at inappropriate times or for lengthy periods.

Just curious if anyone knows the area and could let me know any info on it.

Thank You!!!

Legally you will be fine. That area is growing rapidly, but as long as you have a solid backstop and it isn't annexed by the city you can legally shoot.  As many gun unfriendly transplants as we've had moving to the area your guess is as good as mine as to whether or not you may offend someone.

It’s a shame to hear transplants are ruining one of the last free states of our Nation! I unfortunately hate to admit that I’m a transplant. I grew up in Pa, went in the Military, took a Job in the Communist State of Illinois in 92, and just moved out to this beautiful state.

Thank you for replying!!!

I agree that area is rapidly expanding. I'm in Mt juliet myself and see a lot of construction going on near Laguardo. As stated you are good to go now, but for how long who knows.

Thanks Turbo! We like Mt. Juliet as well. Do you think they are going to move the city limits or are you saying that it might just go south because of people complaining?

Is it true that traffic can be so bad that it can take 1 1/2hrs to get to Brentwood from there?

Yes, on both ends of the ride. If you plan mid day or weekends it is no to bad.

Better take advantage of it before another apartment complex or mega neighborhood pops up. I'm on the outskirts of MJ and it's honestly a bit depressing to see all this open farmland go away. Lots changed in my 45 years.

Not so much city limits, more of the influx of people from out of the area that are buying homes because of the prices. It will likely be very populated in the future.

To answer your second question. With traffic it can take 90 min to get to Brentwood especially from they area as you'll likely head down 109 to 40 and have to pass next to Nashville.
