Stuff I've found concerning carry laws on the web

Go to www.state.tn.us Pick the laws tab. There's 3 parts here:

1. Pick the blue box that says Crime & Safety. At the bottom there will be a link for handgun carry permits. There's all kinds of stuff here... if you go to the Handgun Carry Permit Related Laws they are leaving out stuff here...

2.) Pick TN Code and Constitution. Handgun laws can be found under Title 39, Chapter 17, Part 13. Now start looking, there's all the sections including justifiable self defense.

I can't tell you how up to date this stuff is because it's updated by someone (not the state.)

3.) Pick State Rules and Regulations. go to Rule chapter 1340. Then 1340-02, then 1340-02-04. On picking the state rules you are also sent to another web site and if you are paying any attention to the left you will also see effective rules, pending rules, etc. I havent' looked around here yet to figure out if this might be a good place to keep an eye on pending & new laws (I gotta go to bed...)

Guess I'm just trying to figure out if these are the best places to stay informed about existing and pending laws...

The majority of us here (at TGO) are familiar with TN's gun laws, but there's several members on here that can pretty much tell you anything. So don't hesitate to ask questions or do a search if you're concerned/confused about something.

Check out the other forums and you'll see a bunch of threads on gun laws, as well as some of the newer bills that hopefully will b/c law here shortly (restaurant carry/park carry)
