70, school me here...what is that? The ammo is throwing me off (I'm looking at it on a BlackBerry browser mind you).

Nice classic regardless!

Kimber Warrior

+ VZ Grips Aliens

+ Streamlight TLR-1

KimberWarrior001.jpg

KimberWarrior004.jpg

I have ordered a black Cerakote stainless magwell with lanyard loop from Mars Armament and also a blank, serrated, notch rear sight from 10-8 Performance. These two things address features that I feel like any fighting 1911 ought to have and that the Warrior lacked.

I have a different set of VZ Grips on the way that will include a thumb-relief for the magazine release and be cut square to cover the mainspring housing retaining pin at the base of the grip.

Just bought this in the Herogear sale. I swapped out the grips for alumagrips, and changed out the plastic (wtf!) mainspring housing for a Wilson stainless one w/magwell.

I've been lusting after that Pro Covert II for a loooooong time!

Looks like we have the same kitchen flooring... I wish I had the Kimber to spruce mine up a little

FYP. ;)

And yeah, I love that thing, too. It replaced a Kimber Eclipse Pro II. That gun was a real looker, but it had some reliability issues. Haven't had the first problem out of the Covert, and the MARPAT laser grips are just too frickin' cool! :D

Steve I had no idea you had two TRP models; I just thought you had the stainless. I'm really digging the OD and black model. :)

David, yeah I have two. I bought the OD and black used and love it. I carry it daily right now.

I broke down and got the stainless after wanting something to shoot for USPSA but I haven't done any modifications yet to get it ready for competition. I may just stick in my carry rotation and get an RIA or STI to shoot for USPSA.

BTW, thank you!!

I love the Escort and am thinking about rounding one up. Tell me about it. How does it carry? How does it shoot? Got a gunsmith friend who says that STI is probably the best 1911 out there for the money.

Kind regafds,
