Some one help me out here. I am interested in the restaurant bill, park bill and allowing loaded long guns in vehicles.

Where are we at on this stuff. I was out of town last week and have not been able to get caught up.

As near as I can tell the following is true. Please correct me where I am wrong.

Restaurants/bars, passed both senate and house but going back to house to resolve the time limit thing.

Parks is now off to the senate for their vote on it.

Loaded long guns ?????? Not sure where we are at.

HB0390

by Fincher As introduced, permits handgun carry permit holders to possess or carry a loaded rifle, loaded shotgun, or loaded magazine or clip therefore while in a motor vehicle.

Passed the House and is scheduled to be voted on in the Senate Juciciary Committe on 4/22/09.

This would be nice. It sucks to have to strip magazines when we go somewhere to shoot. And driving a pickup truck I either have to empty mags and stripper clips or shuffle crap around in the toolbox to make room for this stuff. Sounds petty and all but it is a hassle. And how many people are guilty of carrying loaded rifle mags inside their cars right next to the rifles they fit in?

I really hope the parks bill make it all the way. I hate having to leave the house naked when I launch the boat at paris landing state park.

this doesnt matter... your good to go in the park if your intention is to board a vessel on navigatable waterways. In short your good to go launching your boat at paris landing.

Does anyone know about the bill that would restrict employers from prohibiting employees from having a gun locked in their vehicle while at work and vehicle on company property?

Doesn't that mean dead for this session?

Well, this year at least, I think.

A session of the legislature is 2 years. This one is 2009-2010 so the same bill could be brought back next year. But more likely one with a different wording.

the only one I am holding hope out for is being able to have a loaded long gun in the cab of the truck.

I think they will screw us out of the others once again.
