It kills me that the Brady Bunch did the following:

"Gun control groups filed a lawsuit charging the Bush administration violated several laws when issuing the rule, such as failing to conduct a thorough environmental review under the National Environmental Policy Act. "

What is the environmental impact of a person walking/hiking/camping in a park with a gun, and a person walking/hiking/camping in a park without a gun? I'm not one to go out and hug a tree, but I think the difference is negligible. It's no surprise the current administration doesn't raise a finger.

The "environmental impact" is nothing more than an extension of the hoplophobic, drummed-up fear of lead poisoning - since we all know that lead poisoning is such a danger when hunting meat, it would obivously be a problem if someone were to discharge their firearms, even into a criminal. {/snark}

Even though the current administration (unsurprisingly) is not going to defend the rule, the NRA can and will, though I would still wager we are going to lose this on environmental grounds...

Not sure what "carrying" has to do with impact on the enviorment. I could understand them saying this if they allowed range shooting or something in that manner, but from my understanding we are not going to be allowed to shoot. If this is incorrect someone correct me.

Then maybe we should prohibit Congress from using our National Parks, for fear that some of that lead in their a** might cause a danger to the environment.
