New Jerry Miculek/Houge grips

Finally got my JM branded houge grips in for my Model 22-4 square butt. I prefer the look of the classic panels that were on it, but this gun is all about practical application instead of looks, and the panels were beating me up pretty good shooting 50 plus rounds a session. They are comfortable, ill give a better range report after I have time to run some rounds though it

Ive always been a fan of smooth wood grips on any gun

Yeah Im not a fan of checkering on most guns, especially anything with healthy recoil. And I dont particularly like the swell at the bottom of most target grips, it never felt normal or natural to have the widest part in the smallest fingers

Nice grips-even a .357 mag short barrel hurts with the wrong grips-

But a .44 would be just punishment-

Pretty...might even almost say beautiful. But form and functionality must come before beauty when shooting heavy recoil loads in almost any size pistol frame.

I personally, and just my opinion, prefer stock Smith Grips in most cases.

Here...I do go along with your choice.

This one is a .45 acp, which actually has more thump on the hand than I thought it would.

Have 2 45acp revolvers. Love'em...not the "thump" though. Ruger New Model Vaquero with 4" barrel seems to shoot softer than the Smith Mountain Gun. But sure is harder to hold for me the the "birdshead" grip. But sure does look Purty!
