P22 and PK380

Wrangler

Recommended Posts

Thinking of trading in my Kimber Ultra CDP II for a P22 and a PK380. I dont really carry it much and it is in great condition. Do you all think this is a good idea? I think the P22 would just be a fun gun to have for plinking away at the range (cheaper too) and the PK380 for me to carry in the summer when the weather is nice and as a bug in the winter. What do you all think?

Have you looked at the pps in a 9 or a 40? That may be a good option. The P22 is a fun gun, but you have to shoot the stronger .22LRs to get the best performance. I had trouble from mine with a few .22 loads.

I just got a P22 less than a month ago, and so far its shot everything I've put through it. American Eagle .22lr is a little soft in it and sometimes doesn't cycle, but everything else has been excellent. Rem Golden and Winchester bulk work like nobodies business. I like the idea of the p22/PK380 for training/carry.....but I'd have a hard time getting rid of a Kimber CDP to fund the pair. It will be a while before the PK380 will be very available. Maybe find a good deal on a P22 and get the PK380 down the road when they, and ammo, become more available? Definitely keep the Kimber if its your only .45.

9mm 1911's are pretty popular right now, you might be able to get a really good price for it. If its something you feel you'll use more, maybe it would be a good move. 9mm is alot easier to find right now than .380 I'd make sure you're able to get enough together to shoot and carry with before moving to a .380 right now. Maybe come june or july ammo will be more available. There is something to be said for stocking one caliber. But your G19 should serve you pretty well as a hi-cap carry gun, and the PK as a B.U.G. or summer carry gun.

P22 great for a fun time at the range. Winchester Wildcats - beware...these are heavy lead bullets and will lead the barrel if you don't clean after each session. Mine eats the stew out of federal and winchester hp's. they don't cost that much more, its worth it to not have to spend so much time deleading. These are a good little pistol for someone who has trouble with the larger calibers. my daughter loves this one because it has little recoil and doesn't cause much pain in her hands. 22lr ammo just like all the rest, getting difficult to find. What else is new....

I don't know anything about the PK380 but as for the P22 I love em. I currently have 2, opne black frame and one green frame. I haven't had trouble with either one and I shoot Remington sub-sonic exclusively because I always shoot them with an AAC Pilot. Though this isn't the first thread I've read where there has been mention about them being picky about ammo. Good luck on whatever you decide.
