PSA: Remember to Inspect your Gear

Recommended Posts

Consider this a PSA to inspect your carry gear. In the last 24 hours I’ve noticed my rear sight drifting AND broke my holster (NSR) during an IDPA match.

Sucks, but better to know it now

So now the question is: do I get a new holster now, or since it’s down anyways, just send off that slide to get milled to make the transition to a red dot?

Where do you shoot IDPA?

Mill that slide and you may end up needing a new holster to accommodate the optic. I've not gotten into competition yet, but a red dot will make you more accurate.

Yep, I did that and didn’t think ahead.  Had to run back to the gun store to pick up a holster to last me til I could order one I really liked. And I am glad I switched.  Got one on a Glock-45 and another on my Sig P-365XL Spectre/macro.
