IMO, the powers in charge of the FBI and Police went to 9 MM so women could shoot them a little easier. Inclusion at work. Everyone noticed the 2 women who was trying to shield Trump, and one had a hard time re-holstering her 9 MM. By the way didn't do a good job of covering him on the way off the stage, IMO. One simply does not send a 5'3" woman to shield a 6'2" man. Just will not work well, did it???

Edited to add; a lot of Police, "not all", are not gun people any ways. I have chatted with officers that don't even know what they are packing or ammo they are using.

Talked to one S Duputy who was, and had just been in a shootout, on I 24, with drug transporters/dealers. They had pistols and he had a 12 Gauge. Shot one and the other 3 dropped their handguns and surrendered. The perp didn't die but it was not pretty afterwards for him.

FBI was looking to change guns after the 1986 Miami shootout. They were, at the time, still using .38 Special and wanted to go to a semi-auto. They started testing 9mm and .45acp. They wanted a cartridge that would have the same terminal performance as their .38 Special 158gr +P semi adjuster HP rounds.  At some point, someone brought in a Colt Delta Elite with handloaded ammo. Testing revealed that the 180gr bullet could be shot at the same velocity and hit with the same amount of force BUT have less recoil than a full power 10mm Auto. And since that meant less powder and more air space in the brass case, they had enough room to shorten the case so it would fit In 9mm framed guns. Ta-Da, .40 Smith and Wesson (or .40 short and weak, whatever).

Doesn't really matter what you carry as long as you train and shoot with it consistently. Just my .02.  Hits count. You WANT cns hits, but in most cases if you damage the chassis, the targets brain will make them stop and assess.

I'd say so, they don't call it the Lord's Caliber for nothing. I own something in every popular handgun caliber (.40 included) and don't hold it against anyone what they choose to carry. I don't care for 40 myself but if others want to carry it that doesn't matter to me. It's just a whole lot of fun to stir the pot from time to time.

I’ve never owned 40 S&W. And I don’t hold it against anyone that does. Shoot and carry what you like! 🙂 I was prepared to buy this, because I remember that during COVID, 40 S&W was about the only ammo you could find. Figured it might be a good thing to get. Then someone said they had the Glock 21 LE Trade ins. That was one I always wanted. So I bought it instead of the Glock 22. I

Gotcha, I still stirred the pot though. 🤣

I kinda figured that’s what you were doing. So was I. 😉

I blame Glock's dumb numbering system. I swear it's as bad as Por-shah's. Must be a Teutonic thing.  😄

The model 45 is a 9mm, the 44 is a .22, the 22 is a .40, and the 40 is a 10mm.  What’s the issue? 😜

Glock's numbering system isn't a problem for me,  I only have one glock.  🤔

So the 17 has a 17 round mag capacity… but my 19 only holds 15, but I can put the 17 magazine in the 19.
