I'm thinking I might go get one and put it in layaway. I don't have a .40 short and Wimpy. 😄

That's a heck of a deal. If I didn't have a bunch of 40cals already I'd be driving over to Harvey's.

Dang it! I got two over in layaway at Crossroads right now. I just don't need a third one in layaway right now!!! 😢

Of course, the Winchester 94, could come out of layaway in the next couple of weeks, so I would only have two in... 🤔

Enablers!!

If someone makes it over there, please report on the condition. The one pictured looks unissued. If that’s representative of the batch, that’s crazy good.

I'd have to go for this myself if I were going to be around K-town in the next week or so. Law-a-way and pick it up in person. But travel is not on my itenary these days.

Don't have a G22 anymore. Sort of liked it.

Acknowledging that @Moped has keenly developed enabling skills and therefore ask he, or anyone local, keep an eye open for one of the S&W 432 UC (.32 H&R mag) that Lipsey's was so instrumental in bringing to reality.

It's not that I need one but Man! Do I ever want one. 🙂

That's $500.00 worth of useful custom work rolled into a reasonable factory price. No fluff, just a serious little pocket revolver.

TIA

Jamie, Crossroads Firearms in Knoxville didn't have the .32 H&R version, but they did have the 642UC. I handled it last week and was super impressed!!!

I am also looking for the 432 or 632UC. If I run across one, I will let you know, if I don't decide to buy it. 🙂

Yeah Harveys had the 442, Ive got one on layaway there. I asked about a 432 to match it and they said they didnt have a time frame yet.

It had to happen, just after I sold my .40 cal bullets and brass.  😭  Wake me when the cops start turning in their .38 Specials.

Thank you my friend!

Everything I've read and the P&S Podcasts I've listened to have me really wanting to, at the very least, handle one. So I am envious! 😁

I would be tempted (very) to pick up a 632 & a 432.  It looks like Smith, Jason Cloessner  (Lipsey's) and some for-real gun people collaborated to knock this one out of the park.

I already have some Lost River .32 H&R mag for carry (LCR) and I handload .32 S&W/ H&R Mag, so...

I'm obviously rationalizing to justify the purchase LOL

Sorry to drift 😉

GT Distributors in Rossville/Chattanooga has Glock 22s similarly priced.Looks like LE agencies are trading in their Gen 3 and 4s for Gen 5s.

Just to update everyone, I got the Glock 21 and bought two additional used mags for $10 a piece. After I got the pistol out of layaway, I took it to the range. The Glock 21 and all three mags functioned flawlessly! The only knock is the NS are dead. I’ll need to replace them. I think I’m just going to put regular sights back on. This is a backpack/truck gun, so it’s not going to see the light of day very often. The life span on new NS would be very short. It’s just not worth the money to me.

There is nothing wrong with a 40 caliber. It is a little snappy, but one will never notice if you need it for emergency work. Kinda like bird hunting with a shotgun. First time I fired a 12 Ga the recoil almost knocked me down. My dad said, "Son the first time you shoot at a flying quail you will not feel the recoil." He was totally right. Same with a handgun recoil. In an extreme emergency one will not notice the recoil if one does not have a medical problem.

I would purchase one of these mdl 22's if I were close by. I now have a mdl 23 in 40. I am going to Pigeon Forge on the 14th. May drive back to the "ville" to see if Harveys have any left. Great price if they are quality pistols.

You're exactly right.  The .40 takes a lot of undeserved shade thrown it's way by folks that do not understand it or have not taken the time to shoot it enough.

One of the best deals I ever got on a handgun was about 15 years ago when one of the middle TN dealers got a hold of a bunch of Sig P229's in .40 where one of the Police dept's (I think Metro Nashville) were cycling out.  The price was crazy low and I got up there early and got to pick one out that looked as though it had hardly been fired.  Below are picts as it looked when I got it and then after I added a couple of things to it.  It is my bedstand gun right beside me at night.

IMO, the powers in charge of the FBI and Police went to 9 MM so women could shoot them a little easier. Inclusion at work. Everyone noticed the 2 women who was trying to shield Trump, and one had a hard time re-holstering her 9 MM. By the way didn't do a good job of covering him on the way off the stage, IMO. One simply does not send a 5'3" woman to shield a 6'2" man. Just will not work well, did it???

Edited to add; a lot of Police, "not all", are not gun people any ways. I have chatted with officers that don't even know what they are packing or ammo they are using.

Talked to one S Duputy who was, and had just been in a shootout, on I 24, with drug transporters/dealers. They had pistols and he had a 12 Gauge. Shot one and the other 3 dropped their handguns and surrendered. The perp didn't die but it was not pretty afterwards for him.

And for just $120 dollars you can replace the barrel and shoot a respectable caliber.

.45ACP isn’t a respectable caliber? 😳

I'd say so, they don't call it the Lord's Caliber for nothing. I own something in every popular handgun caliber (.40 included) and don't hold it against anyone what they choose to carry. I don't care for 40 myself but if others want to carry it that doesn't matter to me. It's just a whole lot of fun to stir the pot from time to time.

@10-Ring I think you may have missed that Moped got the Glock 21 trade-in which is .45 ACP. Not the Glock 22 which is a .40. So you suggested Moped change his .45 to a respectable caliber . . .  oops.  🙂

Gotcha, I still stirred the pot though. 🤣
