I read a good article about red vs green. For the most part it seems to come down to intended use and preference.

https://www.opticsplanet.com/howto/how-to-choose-a-laser-sight.html

For me personally, I don't need a laser for outside in the daylight, so red would do for me. Green lasers are also known to be more complicated and less durable, so over time they tend to fail more often on firearms. So, a reputable red dot is just the smartest choice for me.

You're talking about laser pointers, not dot optics.

The Optics Planet article was definitely about optics, not pointers. It has some good info in there and it's a quick read.

After comparing many side by side, I landed on the green dot.

I would recommend you go check some out and compare. Different strokes for different folks

I think this is all personal preference for the most part but I personally use green. I had a cornea transplant in my dominant eye and I get the starburst effect really bad with red now. The green is much more crisp.

It’s all about whatever works the best for your eyes . Because some people complain about red and some about green . It’s the best if you can try it out somewhere first and order the one suits best for your eyes .

Agreed. Personal preference is key. I myself find red does everything I need it to.
