This bill is now law in Tennessee. Included are all gun parts and accessories except guns that fire more than one round per trigger pull, explosive tipped ammo and explosives. I found it interesting that sound suppressors are specifically included. So now, if someone will do it in TN, you can buy an action or a suppressor made in TN if you are a TN resident without all the ATF paperwork and $200 extortion tax for the suppressors. I hope the TN legislators who passed this will stand behind it. Here is the link to the entire bill. It is only a couple of pages long.

So......I wonder when somebody is going to risk 10 years in club fed to build their own suppressor that is allowed by TN law, but restricted by the BATFE?

If I did make a TN legal suppressor and the ATF tried to arrest me, I wonder if i could call the local police for protection?

Of course it could turn into a blood bath. Maybe I should wait for a better a man than I to build one and see what happens.

Wasn't there a manufacturer in Franklin a couple years ago? They may have gone under, I'm not sure, but I remember seeing something like that at a gun show.

The September issue of "American Rifleman" specifically advised members that these laws (such as those passed in MT, TN, AK,etc.) were written to draw lawsuits in order to take 10th amendment issues to the Supreme Court. The NRA specifically advised members *not* to purchase arms produced under these laws, and stated that they would not defend anyone who did so. I'm no lawyer, but my layman's advice would be to let these cases wend their way through the courts over the next few years, if indeed they ever make it, before opening yourself up to federal prosecution for violating class-III laws.

This is entirely a legal exercise - don't get yourself in federal trouble by believing state law can ever trump federal law, until the SC rules. Again, I am not a lawyer, but if the biggest firearm owners' rights advocate in the country says "stay out of the fight", I would stay far, far away.

If Fed law trumps State law then why can you legally get a scrip for marijuana in CA, WA and OR??
