I would be very suprised if the house votes this bill in the way it is. This is a classic example of trying to get more then you can... this very move could kill the legislation all together.

I'm gonna be really pissed if I'm not having dinner July 1 in some nice restaurant with my Python on my hip because a bunch of ****tards kept insisting on a "clean bill".

Funny, I would be pissed if the group of guys who were scared to stand up and stand firm left their Reps messages saying they were OK with some restrictions giving them an out caused me to be in the same position.

As is, I expect it will go to conference, and we will get something. Won't be near as good if the gun owners hadn't scattered around, begging for scraps and gleefully accepting whatever scraps some anti-gunner offered them.

Want proof of how I can see this should not have happened? Look at the REPUBLICAN Reps who voted against this. Had we simply kept them in line, this would not be an issue.

If we get no bill, you can talk about integrity all you want. I would have much rather seen this be a done deal already and get it tweaked later on when the naysayers were proven wrong. Just like when the original bill was passed and we got places where alcohol was just sold removed. They just need to pass the damn thing and we can tweak it later.

We can't keep giving the House opportunities to derail it. Who knows what Neifeh has been working on behind the scenes the past few weeks?

I agree with you SomeGuy.. Many people here that want to continuously capitulate to the left are going to find their bank notes owned by the Chinese by two years from now anyway, & this will be the least of their problems, after their loans get called in under the next massive bank collapse that the left is trying to cause to force us into a global economy. Sadly, those of us who won't cave will suffer with them anyway, because there's too many people in America with one foot on the boat, & one foot on the dock. That includes many of our so called "Republicans".

Glock,

Much as I like to bash the weak state GOP, your statement is not true. Williams was the sole Republican who did not stay in line.

+1 on this quote. I don't want to give away anything either, but by the time we can get this up for consideration again, I may be to old and toothless to eat out at a nice restaurant.

I would ideally like to see restaurant/bar carry legalized this year. I hate leaving a valuable handgun in a car in Memphis city limits when I go out to eat at a decent restaurant. The last thing I want is some gang banger to steal my handgun and use it in a crime. With Tennessee's laws, many unattended handguns are left in cars at restaurant parking lots.

If any of you know your legislators (I am not a native Tennessean), please urge them to pass a decent bill. I would rather not have a 'curfew' or 'age restricted venue', but think I can deal with the 'age restricted venue' much better than the curfew.....very silly that at 11PM you are suddenly illegal when at 10:59PM you were legal.

When you consider what they did to Rosalind Kurita, I can see the Dem leadership ordering their puppets, I mean the duly elected Reps/Senators to do anything.
