Bersa From The Holster

Just a short range report on the Bersa Thunder 9 when used from the holster in defensive exercises. This target consists of 39 rounds of FMJ fired as follows: (A) 20 rounds fired at 3 yards, single handed quick draw, hip shooting, double tap. (;) 19 rounds fired at 7 yards, quick draw, single handed rapid fire, single shots, each and every shot double action

Basically I found the pistol to be extremely well suited for this kind of shooting and noted an uncanny similarity between shooting it and shooting the pre-plastimatic Smiths. The Bersa has just a fraction longer double action pull than the Smith, but nothing you can't acclimate to right away, as you can see, and the reset is just as good IMHO.

I should add that I haven't been able to do this kind of shooting for two years because of some medical problems, so I was pretty pleased to still do this stuff without shooting myself. The Bersa is absolutely worth the money, y'all. It really is. Oh by the way, the shot into the square box in the upper right is an aimed shot from 15 yards.....not even I could throw one away that bad!! grin.gif

Looks good Jerry. You are right about Bersa. I bought a .380 a while back and am very happy with it. The finish could be better but it is top notch where it counts. Not one failure 100+ rounds. BTW, did you ever get that Stoeger Cougar we talked about a while back? That is another gun that I am very happy with. I put a pair of Beretta wood grips on it and looks great.

Y'know, I couldn't find a Stoeger Cougar anywhere to save my life. Everybody was out and the ones on Gunbroker were outrageous. So I'll keep my eyes open for one. Yessir, Bersa makes a good piece of equipment.
