Pricing question: SIG P220

I've kind of decided if I want to buy more toys I should divest myself of some I don't use anymore. I have an older "Made in West Germany" vintage P220 I'm considering selling. It's a sweet little shooter, but I never take it out anymore. Hell, at this point I have three .45's (XD45 and a 1911) and all I seem to shoot anymore is 9mm and .22lr. I also have the .22lr conversion kit for the P220. That's another $350 worth right there.

I see one that looks exactly like mine on gunbroker for $599. The price seems a little high to me, but what do I know. I can't figure that my old P220 with the .45 and .22 slides is worth $900+.

Anybody want to give me an idea of what this is worth?

(the pic below is from the auction, not mine, but it's the same vintage with the same old-style SIG grips)

I would believe your pistol would be worth between $575 and $650, depending upon the number of mags, if you have the original box and papers, etc. The older German guns tend to have a following. Condition is everything and yours appears to be excellent.

As for the conversion unit; you may realize more selling is separately. If it's one of the new units that came out in the last few years they haven't been around long enough to establish a true used value. If its one of the older German Police training kits, then it will be worth about what the gun is worth by itself.

That's not mine in the picture. I grabbed that pic off gunbroker as an example. Mine is of the same vintage with the same grips. I only have 2 mags - a 7 round factory mag and an 8 round ACT mag that's been 100% reliable. No box, no papers.

It's no big deal. I'm not in a rush as I don't need to sell it, but I never take it out anymore. I thought I could sell it and put the cash towards a nice S&W model 18.

Granted, I'll probably hate myself for selling it one day.

Not having the box and papers will not help your cause. Older Sigs are the best Sigs IMO. With only one factory mag. $450 to $500 for the 220. You might have more luck splitting up the .22lr kit and the 220.

However everything is worth what someone is willing to pay.

Good Luck

My book lists the P220 from 300 for 'Good' condition to 550 for 'Excellent' condition. Couple of notes, it says add $40.00 for either the K-Kote finish, or the nickel slide. Add $100.00 for stainless.
