Scope base for a M38 Swedish Mauser?

Recommended Posts

I have a M38 6.5x55 Swedish Mauser somebody through time has drilled and tapped it. The two piece weaver bases I have  seem to tilt the front of the scope down. Bore sighting it it is low and left at about 40 yards, then I run out of adjustment. I’ve tried 2 different scopes. Is the receiver on these 2 different heights? I thought about trying a EGW mount.Any thoughts on this?

Get some shims and raise the front mount or get a mount made for that rifle.

May order a EGW mount and try it.

Do small ring and large ring Mausers use different scope bases?

What numbers are on the mounts. 46 and 55?
