Plugs do not protect your ears properly. Use MUFFS if you shoot much. If you shoot indoors use BOTH. Plugs cannot protect your hearing fully because the bones in your ear can still be vibrated through your lobes.

Folks, if you don't protect your hearing it will be gone LIKE MINE. Back when I started out, nobody ever taught hearing protection where I was. GUESS WHAT?!? My hearing loss is permanant. I can hear, but it is truly poor.

Even when I still deer hunted, I did so with the electronic Peltor brand ear protectors on as I wouldn't trade what hearing I've got left for all the deer in the woods.

Spend a few more bucks and get some good ones that fit well and feel well or they will hurt after a while. Sta;y away from the cheapies at WallyWorld.

That reminds me of a story of a older gentleman at work, he has shot a lot of shotguns over the years without hearing protection and his hearing has suffered. The company tested the employees hearing a few years ago, and only one person did worse than him, mainly because the other guy fell asleep. So now my friend wears hearing protection.
