Good job Alleycat72. Did this with all my grandsons just before puberty. You know, the time when you were a kid, and woke up with a smile on your face, and then wonder how/where the wet drawers came from. "PUBERTY" Scared me! Thought I had busted. Ah Youth!

My dad didn't give me the talk. Good job Guy!! You, and your wife are good parents.

Edited to add; My wife did this for our 4 girls.

Well I had two sons and I have to admit I waited to long to have the talk and I became a grandfather at 35. My oldest son got his lessons from a young lady 4 yeas older than him and was divorced from her husband and lived in the neighborhood. They had a baby boy and my son got to spend 6 months being a father before his car accident that took his life. I was lucky that the young lady married a great guy and they made sure I was able to be his grandfather and he would come and spend weekends with me when he was little and now he is an adult and I hear from him about once a week and he and his lady friend come and visit when he gets a weekend off. He works for the 911 call center in Dickson County which covers 5 counties. My younger son also has two sons and they have 3 children which makes me a great grandfather.

That has to be tough sir. It made me think hard because just as i finished reading it I heard my son yell "bye dad, i'm going to meet up with Grant". Made my stomach knot up a bit, not gonna lie.

How cool though that your grandson still checks on you weekly! You must have made a good impact on him.

I think I did,  hope I did. When my wife learned that she was going to be a grandmother at 32 she denied that it was Doug jr's and would not have anything to do with him and when I would not deny the baby was Doug's she left me and the boys and took up with a man 5 years younger than her and would not have anything to do with me or her two sons or her grandson. She said to  she was to young to be a grand mother. We got  a    divorced and about 5 months later she married the young man. She would not have anything to do with Ronnie her youngest son and his family either. Let me mention also that my son Doug was in the hospital in a coma from his accident when she walked out on us also. There is a lot more but that should be enough to give you some idea of what my life was like after Doug's accident.

It sounds like your grandson is a productive member of society and he values you enough to catch up often and is introducing his lady friend to you... most kids grandparents are an afterthought.

As for your ex... well... that's her loss.

As for my ex-wife she got what she deserved. She got to see the other side of her guy after they said I DO!!!! He used he for a punching bag. Got her pregnant and still punched he until I put a stop to it. He made the mistake of punching my son Ronnie and his wife dragged him out of the house and they left. The only reason he went down to their house was to ask the guy to quit beating his mother so he said ok and punched Ronnie. Tammy, Ronnie's wife could not wait to tell me what happened. She knew I would deal with it. I did.

Was not any fight. The guy was twice my size and younger. I asked him to come out on the porch were we could talk and he did. I told him that he needs to quit beating on my sons mother cause it hurts him to see his mother like that. I also don't like thee fact you hit my son. he backed up about 2 feet and said how about if I beat on you and I said that will get you killed and as he came towards me I shoved a 380 Thunder in his mouth and said your done talking and now you are listening. Your going to stop hitting my sons mother period. If I hear about you doing it I can promise you that you will not hear the shot that kills you. I am expert shot and have a gun that will shoot far enough that the bullet will kill you before the noise gets to you. If you don't believe me try me. I took my gun out of his mouth and he backed away and I looked at him and said you can go change your pants now cause he had peed them. I figure he did that when I pulled the hammer back. I heard that he packed his bags and went back to his home town of St Louis and had killed a new girlfriend by beating her to death and is doing life without Parole.

Sometimes you put a condom on the banana, some times the 380 thunder goes in your mouth...

Proof positive that sex can be dangerous.

My Wife told them that they would grow in to them. LOL.

Trying my best to make it a funny and educational experience. I don't want to be an early grandfather. Last night they had to explain were babies come from. Tonight they had to explain how you get STDs and how to prevent them. I pulled out the condoms and said "show me". They looked horrified. I probably should have pulled out the bananas first.

Yeah that's not gonna come back and haunt her in any way, shape, or form.

Reminds me of the Calvin and Hobbs cartoon

Calvin: Where do babies come from? Dad: Well most people get them from Sears. Calvin: You bought me at Sears?!?! Dad: No we got you at Kmart on the Blue Light Special!

It was always funnier to me because Mom worked at Kmart.

I’m currently reading through Calvin & Hobbes with the boys. I’ve got the hard bound complete collection.

I taught my little girl about the birds and bees with our farm animals. Yes the horse has a big thingy, yes the mare is really swollen now and yes the mare SCREAMED when the foal was birthing. My daughter never looked so horrified/disgusted/scared as when the plecenta plopped out. All natural smells, sounds and visuals. I told her the truth about the guys her age and what they are driven to want. "If you don't want to have a pony, keep yer saddle on."  She finished college last year and has had a steady fella for 3 years running. She is in no hurry to make babies as she wants a secure base to start from. I'm so proud of her plus I'm in no rush to be a Grandpa.
