I live in an old house with plenty of eave space. The Urban Flying Rat has taken to roosting there and cooing for hours on end. I've never killed anything on a hunt before, but I took this fat b@st@rd with a Crossman Raven .177 pellet gun yesterday and thought I'd share.

If you really want them out best thing to do is put chicken wire or wire mesh on those spots they land by which I mean staple it so that they cannot land on ledges. Their crap can cause a lot of health problems.

Especially the birds in this great city.

They make a cualk for repelling birds. We use it at work and supposedly it stings the hell out of them. Alot easier than mesh and staples.

Can you tell me a brand name and where I can find that? We are having bird problems in one specific part of our front stoop's cover, and I can't figure out how to fix it. This sounds like it may do the trick.

Pellet guns are more fun.

They sure are.

Gamo makes a .22 caliber air shotgun/pellet rifle that fires their # 9 bird shot and also has an adapter to fire .22 pellets,I have one of these and they work great for this type of activity, the shot normally will not harm your wood or eaves, but will kill the pest at about 10-15 yards, mine will put the shot thru 1 side of a steel peach can at this range. They run about 2 bills,I know its a lot more expensive than caulk but its a heck of a lot more fun,and gets rid of the pests.:P
