Country music is far from dead, the good stuff just isn't played on the radio, and save for maybe Chris Stapleton and Jamie Johnson I don't want to hear anything on "Country" radio. There is a boatload of great independent artists just like this one, but you have to seek them out. They refuse to play the Music Row game so the big labels won't sign them. Yes, they are harder to learn about, but you hear their music and not the "country radio" BS.

In middle TN, try 89.3 WMOT (MTSU student radio). They play good roots, blues, bluegrass, and Americana music. I hear some good indie artists there. It's the only one I know of. Even Lightning 100 is mostly Millennial and Gen Z sadness music mixed in with former indies who made it big and got deals and now sound like everyone else.

Also try the Blackberry Smoke station on Pandora for bands not in the mainstream. They do play Chris Stapleton quite a bit.

Stream WDVX online out of ET.  Based in Clinton but broadcasts in Knoxville on FM 89.9 and 102.9 for us radio types.

Well, here's a video with her from another Knoxville artist but she ain't singing and dude seems to have disappeared. lol.

Check The Garrett Boys out guys. They haven't hit it big yet, but I think they are very talented. If you click on this link go to 1:10 mark as there are other entertainers. The bearded guy is one of my church members son and the boy on right that plays mandolin is his son. We saw them live at the Oak & Iron venue in Livingston.
