Upcoming FNRA Dinner in Middle TN

Hello All:

The Sumner County Chapter of Friends of NRA will have its annual dinner & auction on Saturday, August 25 6pm at Hendersonville High School.

I have tickets available for purchase. Tickets are normally $30.00 each, but a table of 8 can be purchased for $200.00. If we can get 7 more TGO members/spouses/friends, we can have our own table and save $5.00 each. You can pay me at the event -I'll take care of reserving the table.

If you have never been to one of these dinners, you're missing some fun. We'll have:

-full barbecue dinner w/drinks and dessert

-silent and live auctions

-door prizes

-games

-and of course, lots and lots of gun talk.

The prizes and auction items are great, and include a variety of firearms (I won a .22 rifle last year), NRA gear, outdoor equipment, etc. And since this is a smaller event (compared with Nashville's), there is a much better chance of winning the good prizes!

Hendersonville High is easily accessed via I-65 and/or Hwy 386 and is just off Gallatin Rd. in the heart of Hendersonville. (123 Cherokee Rd.)

Note: If you are planning to compete at the ACS Charity Shoot, you can still attend this dinner. There will be enough time for you to shoot, clean up, and head to Hendersonville.

Interested? PM me and let me know you are coming. We'll have a great time!

Bumping this thread since the date is closing in on us. Several TGO members have indicated a willingness to attend. I'd love to have TGO table at this thing! Come on middle-TN TGO-ers, the guys east and west are getting together way more than we are. Here's a get together where you can win a gun!

Read my post below for all the details.

You know we'll be there if at all possible. My mother had to go into the hospital for a pacemaker, then brought back in with dizzyness Friday. She's scheduled for a angiogram Monday morning.

also...don't let me forget to pay you for the tickets Len. I haven't seen you since I got 'em of you.

You know I asked about the location last year -how can we have a FoNRA event at a place where you can't carry? As usual, money is the answer here. The committee is hoping to build this event to where we can afford to hold it in a nicer, more gun-friendly location. The JROTC at this school also has been a recipient of an NRA Foundation grant, so this is also their way of paying back.

Yes they will.

Will the guns which are being auctioned off be there on-site, at the school?

I don't know about the "special provision." Whenever anyone asks about this, they are told "don't ask."

Eddie, the event is Sat, not Fri. Can you make it then? 6pm.

It would be nice if the NRA and the state Republican Party could manage to schedule events some other time than Fri night or Saturday day. Might give some of us a chance to join in. <sarcasm off>

Oh, I had my days mixed up. I'll be working until 7 or 8 on Sat, as well... I wouldn't be able to make that either.

I'm sorry

Oh well, would have been nice to see you and Misty. Anyway, more chances for Tungsten & I to win stuff!

Tungsten: I have your RSVP and will have tix at the door for you.

No sweat Dave. Family comes first.

We had a good time. There was some cool stuff in the auctions. I snagged myself a SIG Mosquito (finally own a .22lr plinker) and some misc. stuff (ironically including one of those electronic mosquito repellents!)

DunnDW picked himself up a nice pistol and my buddy Andy went high dollar to get the gun of the year (S&W 460). His wife was ecstatic and wants to shoot it ASAP (she's about 98 lbs, it should be interesting to see!)

I also won a paint ball gun in one of the games and was close to winning the shotgun of the year but was out-bid and wimped out. I'm not a big fan of camo'd guns, so I lost no sleep.

Len... I've got bad news for you man. My wife is in the middle of a big project for work and some things have gone wrong with it today. She won't be able to go, and I really don't feel like making the trip up there without her. If she gets a chance to take a break at all this evening, I'd rather be around so that we can go grab dinner together or something.

Sorry to let you down in the 11th hour. :D

It was pretty nice. Got to meet a few democrat gun owners...I thought Len was the only one :-)

Picked up a FN 40cal...paid too much for it (according to Gunbrokers) but it goes to a good cause.

Leeme tell ya...Len is a LOUSY date...every time I turned around he was wondering off...talking to other people....it was like he was having to work the event of something :-)

The NRA Foundation did a very good job putting the event together
