Taurus Judge Long Range Accuracy

Recommended Posts

Anyone taken a Judge to distance? I know they make different flavors in 2.5" and 3.0" chambers, the "Raging Judge" that also shoots 454 Casull, but how does any of these shoot at a longer distance? I have a 3" judge and it won't shoot .410 slugs worth a flip past 15-20 yards or so consistently. The "cowboy" loads shoot most accurate from mine, when velocity of the Colt loads goes up, the groups start stringing outward. I don't know if the 2.5" ones shoot the 45 Colt loads more accurately, if the longer barrel models have a considerable accuracy increase and especially how the 454 loads shoot from them...

Anyone experimented distance shooting with the Judge?

Mine isn't capable of "minute of pig" accuracy at 25 yards. Can't remember how long the barrel is and I'm at work right now. All and all I find this firearm to be an outright piece of junk. It's good for shooting rats with .410 at <5 feet, but is otherwise useless in my experience.

IMO, the Judges were gimmick guns. Made for very close range. Saying that, I would not want to be shot with any of them. Just never found a good use for one.
