Guns and Leather Pro Shop Gone, Outpost Armory In

Recommended Posts

Nothing against Outpost Armory...does it seem like they are waiting in the wings scooping up all of the closing gun shops around?

Is Guns and Leather in Greenbrier still around?

Why the closing of the Hendersonville location?

I really like the small town gun shops, regardless if they have a range or not, you get to know the employees, can make good deals and if you want to trade a gun in they don't rake you over the coals like the corporate jobs or pawn shops

It would be interesting to know the breakdown of the ownership of gun shops across the Mid-Tenn area and how/if any are affiliated

The Greenbrier pro shop is gone?  I was there to have Jeff do something minor to one of my guns fairly recently.  And the Hendersonville location is gone too?

Internet shows Greenbrier open, if you look they removed their Facebook link for Hendersonville. I just haven't been to Greenbrier in awhile, so don't know if they're open or not.

Outpost has purchased Franklin Gun Shop and now G&L Hendersonville

Just curious if anyone has been by the Greenbrier shop in past week or two

I was there last month sometime with my nephew. I haven't been in the old Hendersonville store for a while but did notice the Outpost Armory sign about six weeks or so ago but haven't stopped by there to see anything.

Outpost only bought the Hendersonville location of Guns & Leather.  The one in Greenbrier is still owned by the Williams family and is still Guns & Leather.

glad to hear that...I've known Dennis and his son's for a long time, good people from my experience. Just don't go that much that way any more

I hope Outpost brings some more used guns to the HV store. I’ve never found anything worth buying there in the past.

I stopped going there for a long time, I bought a 1971 NIB Colt series 70 Gold Cup from another forum and needed a transfer done. I stopped in and talked to them and they even called the FFL that had the gun and set up the transfer. I thought that was pretty good of them, my Colt came in and they called so I went over to fill out the paperwork and pick it up. When it came time to pay I was a little shocked and mad, I was charged $65 for the transfer. I'll admit I didn't enquire as to what they charged and that's on me, I figured that they charged similar amount as the other shops, $25 + $10 background check. Never really went back other than use the range. Just looked at their website, I definitely won't use them for a transfer,$45 + background 😅

Went past the Greenbrier GL shop yesterday and they appear to still be in business. I stopped in a little while back after their smash & grab  robbery and checked out the remodel, didn't get the vibe that they were leaving anytime soon.

Turns out to be good timing for G&L, bad timing for TOA. The tornado in Hendersonville did significant damage so it’s closed for repairs.

Damn, hate to here, since it was late Saturday night no one hurt?

From what I heard, no significant injuries in the building. Major damage all along the path of the storm.
