Surefire vs cloud vs rein

Recommended Posts

Cloud Defensive makes the rein.

I have a handful of cloud lights and have been very happy with all of them, so much so that I purchased a few of their handheld lights as well.  That being said you can't go wrong with a proven surefire either.  Overall the clouds I think have better performance and since they come with the switch they can be cheaper, although the surefire has the history. If you want IR capability the Surefire Vampire lights are out there, the CD offerings don't have IR capability today. I wouldn't hesitate to utilize either brand and be very confident in my light.

Cloud makes a better handheld, and in my opinion the Rein 3 mounted on my Benelli M4 is superior to any Surefire Scout I have owned.

I have many Surefire lights but after Modlite and Cloud defensive came around the only role Surefire is superior in is Pistol mounted lights. Cloud has been working on coming out with a Pistol mounted light for a while now.

I have 6 Modlites, ran 2 of their pistol lights and had switch issues. I no longer have those

Modlite handhelds are bulletproof the beauty of Modlite is that you can run all of the surefire switches, rail mounts made for the surefire scout lights. I have replaced older Surefire weapon mounted lights with Modlite Heads and the difference is night and day.

I have the OKW HOG and it is big. Since it came out it has been my favorite that was until I received my Cloud Defensive MCH Duty. I have mine programmed for low and the Highest setting. I still have my MCH lights but the Duty is superior

I have recently learned that Modlite has made a programmable Light, Until I get one the Duty will remain my favorite.

Surefire for a very long time was superior to everyone, this is no longer the case in my opinion unless you are talking about pistol mounted lights they are the only one who gets the switches right

I have 1 rein and 1 surefire. I cannot attest to the total reliability of either for firearms but the rein has a better quality of light emitting from it. My lights are specified for edc, not firearms. Both are fantastic lights but price and clarity of light goes to the rein.

I worked at (SF).....could talk smack on the company, but not the products. They are well made products. When compared to the USA competitors, brighter isn't simply ALWAYS better....case dependent on that argument.

They're built like tanks and they do stand behind their products 100% ( yes their are exceptions to the rule...but by and large).

M600 Duel Fuel is where its at!
