Ikea?

I am planning a trip this weekend down to Atlanta to visit my cousin and make quite a few purchases at Ikea. Since we will be going downtown ATL with a large van, which will be filled with quite a few items after shopping, I want to carry during the trip. Does anyone know if you can carry inside Ikea?? I can't find anything online about Ikea being posted or not.

I actually found a few posts on their website from mid-2008 about people carrying (even OC!) in Ikea, so unless things have changed since then, I should be ok...

I used to work at an IKEA, not Atlanta, but the people who work there are not going to be paying the slightest bit of attention to you as an individual on a weekend. It's waaay too busy.

I carried there when I was off the clock shopping. Never had a problem.

I carried at an IKEA store in Michigan last December -- it wasn't posted.

I worked at that one for about 2 years.

I put a call to a friend who works in L.P. and he told me IKEA has no written policy regarding customers carrying firearms.

It's likely they never will. USA Headquarters is in Pennsylvania.

What were the unlawful demands?

Demand for ID or verbal identification (in MI) without RAS that a crime was being commited, about to be commited, or had been commited.

Police were called only because the store employees/management were unable to muster the courage to ask the customer (who had been there for hours) to leave (so there was no tresspassing).

Unlike here in TN (where we must show our HCP upon demand when carrying), MI has unlicensed OC and there are no "stop and ID" laws.
