With a side by side coach gun  if loaded and falls with safety on can there be a chance of a discharge I don’t have kids or unsupervised guests  wanted to leave loaded for home defense measure unless. A fall could be a problem.

The whole point of the safety is to prevent an unintentional discharge. So long as the safety is engaged, your should be okay. Of course there is always a chance that something untoward could happen, but you should be fine.

Take a look at the design of your particular gun to see how the safety works. That could help set your mind at ease.

Thanks I am use to a pump action but I really like shooting the coach gun

I assume your coach has a tang safety ?

Safe or not if falls with safety on

It would help to know what brand the gun is. I assume its an internal cocking coach and not a rabbit ear, although there are some that exist where you can cock the rabbit ears back then lock the chambers.

The tang safety typically locks out the trigger or triggers but doesn't block the set firing pins from discharging during a fall. But there again it depends on the gun being discussed. Some of your newer HD coach models have a safety that freezes the entire internal operation so accidental discharges are minimized.

In general shotguns are not drop safe.  There is no sear block.  That is why they are carried in car or stored cruiser ready.
