Vehicle Headrest Safe

Couldn't they just take the whole headrest out with the push of a button or a little force? Seems like a great idea that is terrible.😉

When this headrest 'safe' came out, it was good for 15 minutes of belly laughs.

I'd be a hard pass on that, but I have a console safe in my truck. I rarely use it as it's a little slow to access. Basically, I use it only when I'm in a communist state like Illinois where you can't carry outside your vehicle and I need to stop for whatever reason. I try to plan my trips to avoid it.

How do you draw from that without muzzling everyone in the vehicle?

Have they tested this to confirm the headrest still functions to prevent whiplash in a collision?

There's nothing like the security of people watching you place your handgun in a headrest or quickly and secretly drawing your firearm from opening a headrest. No one would notice as thieves and robbers are notoriously blind.

This sounds like something the government would invent as a gun safety FUBAR.

I watched a demo of this at the NRA convention this year. The install is semi-permanent. There's a toggle bolt that gets deployed when you insert the headrest to prevent it from being removed. You CAN remove it by unscrewing the mounting hardware. Looked like it'd be more time-consuming for a thief to remove this than the one on a cable.
