New range toy

GSG STG-44 in .22lr. Picked this up the other day at Outpost for $350. I could tell it had been shot a lot as the chamber face and bolt head were very dirty. Fully disassembled and cleaned, now looks great. All the parts look good. Haven’t had a chance to take it to the range yet but will soon. I didn’t know how hard to find and expensive spare mags are. Glad it had two extra. All three  are 24 rounds mags. Would like to find a 10 rounder.  I’ve been kinda wanting one of these since they came out back in 2012 . Any of you have one of these?

That would be an exotic for me. I have nothing to even compare except a Mini 14, second generation. Congratulations and enjoy your new toy.

I have one of the GSG-5 SD models.  I have been think that I need to take it out and play with it.

Don’t think I would choose it for a bug out gun. Way to heavy for that. They made it to the same weight as an original STG44. A fun plinker for sure!

Yeah the box was a surprise, it was just the rifle on the rack . I didn’t read on the hang tag “ box and extra mags” I didn’t even know these ever came with wooden boxes. There was even a nice Hoppes cleaning kit and some ammo in the box.

I'm a newbie. I'm not sure if I can refer you to a dealer that can likely get you one or not? (I read the rules twice) 

He got me a spare magazine for an out of production Marlin and some spare Henry mags.
