Karl built this for me in 2005. 

If you're not familiar with Karl's work, he is one of the longest serving ABS journeymen Smiths working in America today. His work has featured many times in Blade magazine (iirc, he's had 4 front covers) & is absolutely ground breaking. He pioneered & popularized the take down system, now copied by many others. Today, if you were to place an order for this particular hunter, you'd be looking around $700 & a multi-year wait. 

It features a simple 1095 blade, differentially heat treated, with a beautiful hamon that clearly shows the carbon migration. Hot blued single finger guard & take down nut, with stainless liner. The handle is exhibition grade desert ironwood, polished to a warm, dull & incredibly smooth sheen.

I'm asking $500 dead firm for the knife, as I need to raise some funds, pronto.

It has never cut a single thing & retains the original edge (which you could happily wet shave your marbles with )

It come with a sturdy, waxed leather sheath, takedown tool & (if I can remember where the hell I put it....) certificate of authenticity.
