So when the House votes on it, it just takes a majority vote to accept the changes, not a 2/3 vote or anything like that?

Yep. Just a simple majority, which should be doable if we don't let up the pressure.

I read that it passed the senate WITHOUT both restrictions for time and age restricted.

That is correct. If the Senate version prevails, HCP holders could carry in any restaurant at any time, unless properly posted.

Correct or it also can be a place the restricts entrance to those 18 and up as well.

I get the 21 part, in that pretty much makes them a defacto bar or nightclub.

I don't get the 18 part since that's below the drinking age.

But not the smoking age.

But...for a place to allow smoking it must restrict admittance to those 21 and over even though 18-20 year olds can smoke.

No one said state laws had to make sense.....lol

Why in the world is Todd so against a clean bill?!?

Simply poll the house members....if there are enough votes to pass it without the restrictions, then let it pass. If not then fine.

Considering the amendment in the house that would have removed the restrictions failed because Todd didn't support it....guess there isn't much chance of them accepting the Senate version without his support....:D

Got a message from Mike Bell this morning and he said

I think we will lose about 10 of the 70 votes we got the first time around but we will still have enough to pass it.

Sounds good to me.

Agreed! I want the whole elephant. I would imagine that most of them understand the curfew is more feel good silliness anyway. The compromise here is simple: you don't want gun carriers in your establishment, you correctly post it. That means no (legal) guns all day, every day. Todd had to repeat this over and over again. Every restaurant in the state can just post if they want to counter this.

So easy a caveman could do it.

Given the overall support for the legislation, I can only come up with two options at this point: 1) He really believe that the time limits will make a difference 2) He believes that it won't get past Gov B without the limit I don't know what it takes to make this a law if it's vetoed though. So, #2 may not be a real issue.

Or.....he made a deal with some of the democrats to push hard for this restriction for a favor in the future....:D

Gee, I guess I was assuming that he was an upstanding guy. Now that you mention it, that's probably a poor assumption to make about any politician.
