Is anyone watching the academy country music awards? Before George Straight got on to perform, Jamie Fox introduced him and while Fox was doing so, he was talking about how great the messiah is and how things have changed. Praising the messiah Fox said, "a black man is now running the country, y'all give it up for him."

I believe that Jamie Fox is a good actor. I have nothing against his work in the acting industry. He is very talented. However, i believe it is irrational and very disrespectful to be talking about politics and his political stance during the country music award. Perhaps that is why Tim Mcgraw pulled out of performing at the last moment. Mcgraw said he had "major disagreement" with the shows producer.

Just my thoughts. Does anyone else listen to country? What are your thoughts about mixing politics and music?

I see where you're getting at. It certainly is not old school country kinda country. There's alot of rock/pop mixed in the music today.

Why does almost every entertainer feel that they have to tell us their beliefs. Just do your job and if I ask then tell me.

Naw, I can't say I never listen to any of it, but even for a damn yankee like myself, it's hard to call it country music anymore.

As far as mixing politics and music, I think it's been going on since the invention of music. If you really "listen" to the words instead of the beat, the two have been mixed for a very long time.

I have no problem with it. Musicians have a right to their opnions, too.

ain't that the truth. My wife was watching it last night. I heard some of it and could hardly believe they call it country music. i can't listen to it, really I can't. I like county music. give me George Jones, any of the three Hanks, Merle Haggard and others of that ilk. Keep Keith Urban, Kenny Chesney and that girl from American Idol. ( I will admit she it fairly hot though) Country music it ain't.

The ACM is a Kali group so what do you expect.The CMA awards are held in higher regard in the Country Music world.
