I've been waiting on this one for a while, ever since they were announced. Picked it up yesterday and got a quick 100 rounds through it last night. Not much to say other than it is fantastic 🙂

It appears to be a 1911 variant of some flavor. What is it? I can’t seem to make out the script.

I thought it was a CZ type pistol, but I’ve been wrong before.

Believe it or not, that's a Dan Wesson!

Sorry I just assume that everyone had heard about these and have been waiting like me for the last 3 years for them to hit the market... 😃

Dan Wesson DWx compact, cross between CZ75 compact and a 1911.  SAO 1911 trigger with an aluminum frame that takes the 75 compact mags so 15 rounds in a nice lightweight and slim package

They also have a full size version

...and curiously, the full size version uses P-10 mags.

Did you find it locally or get it online?

P10-F mags specifically

I picked it up local. They got a full size in a couple of weeks ago that tempted me but I prefer carry size pistols so I told him if he could get a compact I would take it.

When the DWX was first announced, I was pretty excited about it.  It happened around the same time that STI rebranded as Staccato and released the first Staccato P.

The DWX was supposed to come with an optic cut.  They sadly did away with that.  They also lost a lot of ground by being super slow to market.

Still, I'll be interested in seeing what you think of it.   🙂

Yeah, the long delay certainly resulted in lost momentum. I'm guessing the OR version will come out, but who knows when. Looks like lots of the buyers of the full size models are sending them out and getting them cut for optics.

I've had a couple of STI/Stacattos including a DVC and a full size that I forget the model of... and the DWX is just as good if not better. The frame is slimmer and feels better to me, small hand guy so it just works better for me.

I've also had a few Dan Wesson 1911s and the fit and finish on this DWX is just as good, and for the price point it should be!

After a few hundred more rounds and hopefully finding a holster it will be in the carry rotation.
