Found one I have been looking for....

I am a fan of old hunting rifles.  Just something about them that always appeals to me.  This particular rifle you do not see very often.  They were made from 1961 to 1973.

I was able to find a first year production.  Judging by the serial number it was a late first year.  It came with an old Leupold scope.  I think I am going to take the scope off and use the iron sights first.  I might put a better scope on it a little later.

So what rifle did it buy.....a Winchester 100. It is a semi-auto .308.  Looks like a Ruger 10/22's big brother.  Now for the pics....

I have one in 284 that came to me from my dad when he passed.

I found out there was a recall on the firing pin, apparently they would break and go full auto?

If yours hasn’t been done they still support it. Google the recall and it will give you a contact number a lady will look up the serial number and send you a new firing pin.

The only bad thing is they make you send them the old one first if I remember correctly.

Love it. They also made one as a lever action. Model 88. I have an old friend that has killed a truck load of deer with it. His only concern is it needs to stay super clean. Like my PawPaw said, A man that won’t clean his gun, won’t wipe is behind.
