For those that heard about Newsoms “28th amendment”

Recommended Posts

Hey,

This has come across my homepage for a few days. Naturally I just ignored it as it seems wild that the gov of CA will introduce an amendment.

I follow a couple of “guntubers” on YouTube, and I really like this guys take. I consume most of the videos he puts out.

Dont want this to turn political, but I think there’s nothing harder than being a black conservative in today’s climate. Guys got a law degree and found a niche and capitalized on it.

I’ll also include a second link on how they juice the numbers saying that guns are the number one killer of children in America. This video allowed my elderly and sheltered mother to look a bit past the headlines.

Hope this helps any Fourth of July debates.

Again, not positing this for political reasons but I’d imagine many members heard of newsom trying to “submit” an amendment. I’m one of those kooky libertarians that think that both political parties of the gov are foul and who just wants to be left alone.

This has been making the rounds on other forums. The general consensus is that he just wants his name in the news and it'll never fly.  Newsom is testing the waters for a 2028 run. Nobody is going to take a politician from California seriously.

Progressives will, welfare recipients will, thugs will, the pay-for-no-work crowd will, free housing will, slum and homeless bums will, BLM will, cancel culture will, Woke will, the trans-it crowd will, urban jungles will, etc.

Generations of those who have lived on the backs of taxpayers and decent folks will.

Don't fool yourself. Why do you think they want the 2nd Amendment abolished and your guns confiscated?

A state that's trying to destroy what little industry they have left, their tax payer base is leaving in droves and teetering on the edge of bankruptcy. Even voters in blue states think they're crazy.  Newsom don't stand a chance. 💩

We've heard things like that before buddy! I certainly he never gets out of Cali in any political position. He's just nutty enough to appeal to all the groups crc4 outlined. Look at our unofficial climate czar and protector of the people.................

JOHN KERRY! A fraud of the first order! Yet he wields his "celebrity status" like the big stick Teddy Roosevelt spoke of. Heaven help us if he gets more power!

Actually either one of these fit that statement!

Kamala wasn’t taken too seriously on the national stage, yet she is a heartbeat away from POTUS. Scary.

This thread is exactly what they want. Just by talking about it, he's getting more attention than he otherwise would have. Politicians on both sides are going to start throwing out ridiculous things to try and grab more attention from the media as the race heats up. Buckle up.

This amendment will never happen.

I think it is, in fact, a pitch to get the Newsome name n bonafide out there in the national Commie Arena as the next " Joe Biden ".

There ain't a 1 in a thousand chance of this passing and becoming a part of the US Constitution.

It's nothin but political pandering for the lefties n red meat for the " Children of Lower Estate "...

In Germany, no one took the 'Little Corporal' seriously either - at first. By the time some people did, it was too late.

The USA ain't Germany... This was a different situation all together.  The Allies made Germany a pauper state with the reparations demanded by the Allies as revenge for starting WW1.

Everybody in Germany wuz sick n tired of being sick n tired of seeing the nation's output being sent to France.  None other than the Supreme Allied Commander in WW1, French Field Marshall Fouch, predicted another war with Germany within 20 years.   He was wrong by one year...1918 to 1939...

That said; I'm by no means advocating taking Newsome's political moves lightly.  We all should keep a close eye on him an his allies.  The SAF and GOA are good ways to do so.

Huey Long of Louisiana comes to mind - a populist/socialist with massive support that scared FDR.

"It Can't Happen Here" are words eaten many times throughout history.

I seem to be beaten up by the " I'm afraid " and the " ultra cautious " wing of TGO.  Whaddya think the chances are of both houses passing this " 28 the amendment" by 2/3 in both houses ( I think ) and ratified by 3/4 of the states...?

I get that we ought ta be watchful.  I don't get that we ought ta be afraid.

I'm not afraid, but I am cautious of anything that smacks of authoritarianism, anything that would deprive me of the natural inherent right of self-defense, and anything that prohibits free speech and free association.

History is replete with examples of boiled frogs.

"Why, we'll never have an income tax." 1912

"Why, we'll never have an unjustified war." Vietnam, Iraq, Afghanistan

"Why, we'll never have universities where free speech is crushed." 1994

"Why, we'll never have sexual identities taught in public schools to 1st graders." 2018

"Why, we'll never have massive socialism in America." 1932 onward

As I say, "It can't happen here until it does."

Won’t say that I’m afraid that it will pass first run.   But I do fear how fast everything’s advancing in the past few years pre/post Covid.

Don't know which of them to be more afraid of. It's a damnable choice!

DAMN! I hate logic at times! May, and does, sound extremist. But not many have lost on betting on the idiocy and undeniable power...of whatever we want to call this current ruling body.

I really don't like thinking this way. But Greed has taken this country by storm in recent years! Whether it be for money or power, and there's precious little difference between the two anymore; the evil that is greed and love of accumulating money by any means is my take on the cause of all our problems.

Maybe I'm oversimplifiny. but my take on it all.

At 71 now, its "Generations" below me. Multiple gens, by all sorts of names. Our young are losing sight of about everything but selfpleasure and the "get it free...I'm owed it viewpoint.  Lack of respect for tradition and education. The past is of no use to them, and many don't know even basic history anymore. Lack of work ethic...heck lack of ethics at all in so many of them now. So sad. I see the FB line "I miss the America I grew up in" a lot. And I do.

He's just keeping his name floating around.  Easy enough to do with donor money.

And while I would never want this amendment to come into existence, it's at least the most Constitutionally sound way they ever could do it.   Usually they just pass something and cross their fingers the courts don't strike it down.

Until the Democrats/progressives try again to increase the number of SC justices to pack the court. They've been trying this since FDR. They won't need an amendment then, just crushing the 2nd Amendment through fiat as Joey "Stumbles" Biden has suggested.

I've said it many times. Our schools are little more than liberal indoctrination centers. They've been filling our children's minds with this stuff for years. Well, now those kids have reached voting age. Common sense is badly out numbered. Its only a matter of time before the liberals win. 😧
