There isn't a good reason not to, unless you have a desire to increase your own personal risk of getting shot. People who aren't up-front tend to pose more risk anyway, the fact that the issue at hand involves a deadly weapon doesn't help things any.

Why would you NOT notify a LEO that you have a permit and are carrying a gun if you are stopped in traffic and IDed for any reason?
