Rifle rods

Anyone using rifle rods on their safe? Trying to tidy up my safe and my ARs are just leaning against the sides. They are to short to reach the rack with the rest of the long guns.

I was looking at possibly doing something similar to that as well. May end up doing that rather than buying something

I saw this and looked around the shop to see what I had at hand to execute this fine idea, but all I could find was an old shoebox of rusty round chainsaw sharpening files and some duct tape, maybe I could wrap the files where I want them to stop sliding down the barrels?

(or not...)

Seriously, I've seen this idea before, and I DO have the same problem with a few carbines, I should get off my butt and go find some (smooth, non-marring) rods of some sort?
