No, I've never used anything like that. I keep my guns in a safe while I'm not home. When I get home, I take out what I need.

If I were to ever need a gun, it would likely be in a hurry, and I'd rather not fight with a lock while my adrenaline is pumpin' a million miles an hour.

Plus, seconds could be the difference between life and death. Simply not worth it to me.

If you must get one, I'd get the easiest one to operate.

does concealment mean security or does it need to be locked up away from kids, etc.

Locked away from the kids, I have a proper gun safe, what I am looking for a way to keep the Shotgun close to my bed but secured from my little ones..

I believe, and don't hold me to this. A standard shotgun lock, llike those used in a patrol car can be converted to be used inside a home. Someone told me that they used a battery like a home alarm battery to function it. It is 12 volt. You could just use the key when it wasn't an emergency.

Not sure if it will work, but I am sure that someone on here will be electrically minded enough to answer.

also, several patrol car locks have a key, but also a hidden switch in case you need it in a hurry, I've seen where a car had an extra mic next to the seat, it wasn't a mic, but a modified/hidden switch for the shotgun. might be something to think about.
