You guys do know it's a fake right????? The slide never moves............gun doesn't recoil.

Caught that on the second viewing. I think I'd expect a bit more of a reaction from the shootee, too...

First time I watched it I was on my Blackberry. But hey wouldn't suprise me if it had been tried.

If you'll do it frame by frame, you'll see during the 14 sec mark that the slide does indeed cycle. It's real.

Hmm, you're right, it does cycle. It's a bit deceptive because it doesn't match up with the audio... seems like it cycles about half a second before you hear the shot.

I'm still leaning towards fake, though... the shootee doesn't flinch or anything, vest doesn't move... the only indication that he got hit was his squalling.

I saw what you are talking about. I should have said the gun doesn't cycle at the bang (sorry). The bang is just after the cycle. Kinda like someone off camera pulling the trigger on a real gun the moment he sees the airsoft gun goes off. :) The gun on camera is an airsoft gun. The real gun was switched for the airsoft the second the real gun came off camera. Plus a 9mm would have more muzzle lift.

Also, it takes longer for blood to flow from what is always a cauterized hole when hot lead passes through flesh. Also, the blood they used is theatrical blood that holds it's shape and does not move. If it were real blood it would have been smeared by the vest.:)

They wouldn't match. Light travels way faster than sound.

Speed of light: ~983568960 ft/s

Time for light to travel 10 feet: .0000000102 seconds

Speed of sound: ~1125 ft/s

Time for sound to travel 10 feet: 0.0088888889 seconds

Difference in travel times: .0088888879 seconds

I feel pretty comfortable saying that for the average human, 8 milliseconds is an imperceptible delay.

:hat:
