A lady at the info center in Sweetwater told us about a place right off I-40 near Monterey called Bee Rock. I'd never heard of it. It was pretty cool. Nothing to do there entertaining, but a beautiful view. If you're ever coming through there and can spare about 30 minutes, check it out!

Last fall me and 2 other guys cruised the 400 acres of timber below bee rock. View from the rock is pretty spectacular. The excessively steep slope below decidedly less spectacular. Bee Rock was privately owned for decades before it was gifted to the city of Monterey. Being so close to the interstate it’s certainly worth a stop. Especially on a non hazy clear sky day.

Fort Loudon is pretty cool if you like history. https://fortloudoun.com/ Just 4 minutes past that is the Sequoyah Birthplace museum which I have not been to yet.  Close to the Cherohala
