New Revolver

Just purchased a new S W Mdl 686-6, + 3" in 38/357 Mag. Just took it to my range and run 28 rounds through it. It shoots like a dream. This will be a house gun for me. This is the first 7 shot Smith I have seen in stock.

My grandson asked me for my Mdl 681 6 shot 38/357 4" and I gave it to him 3 years ago. I have missed that revolver immensely. Never realized how much confidence I had in that revolver. Stopped by Outpost Armory today and they had the 686-6 in stock and I could not leave it there. I like 7 shot revolvers and that is what I pocket carry and have for the past 6 years.

I am just a revolver man at heart.

I don't pocket carry an L frame, grayfox54. It is too big for that. I carry a K frame size Tarus Mdl 617 which is a 7 shot K frame size with a 2" brl. Yes, it is a pocket full, and I wear Carpenter jeans most times. They have deep pockets. Been carrying this model for several years. The pocket bulges slightly, but I have never been asked what is in my pocket. Of course, I use a pocket holster, a modified Desantis Nemesis.

I think I could carry the SW in a belt slide OWB holster, since it has a 3" brl. I don't know about IWB carry. It is just a tad larger than my Taurus. About 1" both ways, grip and brl, however I did not purchase it to carry.
