Vortex Spitfire Prism Scope

Recommended Posts

I'm thinking about buying a prism optic to use on an AR in a run & gun event later this year.  Have my eye on a 3x Vortex Spitfire Gen II.  (See what I did there?)

My one reservation is that these have strict and really close eye relief.  Does anyone have one of these on an AR?  How do you like it?

Also, any chance I could slide you some ammo for a chance to meet up (Nashville, Goodlettsville, Hendersonville) and see how I like (or dislike) the eye relief before I buy one from the store?

I have a Primary Arms and a Burris 3x prism and have tried the Vortex. Honestly, to me, a LPVO seems to work better regarding eye relief. When running simple transition drills, I'm slower with a 3x prism.....

On another note, generally gun shops who have one on display usually have a "mount" rifle they use for optics to allow you to really check it out. If the shop doesn't,  tell em they should....it's super helpful when optic shopping.
