Recommended Posts

I check it out every few days this time of year and just now the banks are pretty crowded. They are running and seen quite a few on stringers. One guy told me they were biting yesterday better and bigger,so digging out my gear tonight. I was just above the Dam,dont know about the rest of the lake.

Hybrids can be a lot of fun on Priest. Have not fished for them in about 20 years but still remember the fights.

Good luck and post some pics of what you catch.

I have seen them hooked below the dam as big as my leg, I am 6'3" and 250 lbs.

Sounds more like a striper than a hybrid.

The hybrid striped bass has horizontal stripes similar to the striped bass, except the lines for a hybrid striped bass are always broken, whereas those for the striped bass are always solid. The hybrid striped bass's body is stockier than that of a pure striped bass, Its back is dark, almost black. Its sides are silvery, with seven or eight faint and broken-looking lateral stripes, and its belly is white.

Most of the ones I have seen pulled out of Priest are Hybrids. Not many pure striper left around here.

Was below Old Hickory Dam and seen them on shore pulling in some type of Striped Bass, huge about 20-25 pounders.            Were they  Stripers or Rockfish?

Stripers and rockfish are one and the same.
