Not looking to start any arguments, but that seems like an awful lot of private schools.  Where are all of them?  It's always seemed like here in West Tennessee the public schools outnumber the privates several times over ...

Many won’t have a handful of kids. I don’t see posting a police officer at each and every one.

They count every single preschool in that statistic no matter how small. That accounts for the vast majority of the private schools, I think. Here's the link:

Ok, that makes more sense.  I tend to forget about preschools, large or small, as I never had any experience with them, either as a youngster or later as an adult ...

I grew up in a town of 5500 people and in that town we had 3 Catholic schools 1 public grade school from 1st grade - 8th grade and 1 public high school.. All the Catholic schools ended at 8th grade and everyone attended the High School. In all my years of attending school if there was a fight between high school students they would be sent to the Dean of students and if they could not work out their issue they were taken to the Gym and both boys were fitted with boxing gloves that weighed 1 pound each and they were told to go at it. There was seldom a winner. Those 1 pound gloves wore both guys down pretty quick and they would both just agree to quit and most times walked away friends. To my knowledge there was never a gun found in the school. it was always a fist fight.

MY friend that still lives up there told me a while back that now ever so often without notice the police will show up at the school with John Doe search warrants and search students cars for drugs and firearms acting on a tip but seldom is anything found. That never took place when I was a student there.

Not that it matters or changes things much, but I'd still like to hear what's in that manifesto. I wonder if they'll ever release it.

I too think it will contain "speek" about some of the laws that have passed recently, Abortion, Gays, Drag Shows, and a few other so called "anti-women" laws that the TN State Gov has past as of late.

She left a suicide letter, so in fact, her intention seemed to be committing suicide by Cop with a hate filled sick mind. How else could one bring herself/himself to kill helpless innocent children.

I have never witnessed such an all-out attempt to pass anti-gun laws in TN before. Just watched the fiasco on TV all afternoon. Expelled 2 representatives from the governing body in Nashville yesterday afternoon for their protest on the floor in Gov.

Around here lots of folks think the way to win is to be the loudest, but those two confirmed that screaming at their colleagues with a Sharpton bullhorn was a flawed tactic.

I heard bits and pieces of this yesterday, but I did see the footage of them using bullhorns to disrupt the legislative session. I guess it's hard being a Democrat when nearly 75% of the state elected Republicans.

I've witnessed this same approach in day-to-day life. Some believe whoever shouts loudest and loses the most composure wins the argument. Then they turn around and say the other side isn't being diplomatic.

The saddest part of the CNN article is that the perpetrators reflexively played the race card, like their actions were irrelevant.

Those young men won in the end. Now they have a national spotlight and the Tennessee house looks like a bunch of racist. When are people going to realize these millennials are built different ?Humongous win!

Also no one in the house disputed their claims that they weren’t allowed to speak in chamber and routinely had the microphone turned off on them. Keep watching, this isn’t the win you think it is. Some of the large corporations in Tennessee will have the house on its  knees before the year is over.

The action yesterday was not well thought out at all. Especially since the GOP already had a supermajority.  Censure would have been the thinking man’s move, but they had to use the stick.

The Tennessee House made the greatest unforced error since John Bell Hood decimated the Army of Tennessee in the Battle of Franklin.

Especially with the uneven application of sanctions. It was a terrible, terrible move.

Major F up and gave Tennessee a black eye (no pun intended ) on a national level this morning with the news networks. As Andy Taylor use to say "why is it I'm always getting the seat of my britchets caught on my own pitchfork".

The media is all over this like stink on chit. They are hell bent on causing a civil uprising of some flavor. When that actually ignites, I doubt that genie will go back in the bottle very easily.

I don’t think there will be a major civil uprising, especially over this issue. This is just another case of people being exposed for who they are.  As usual, I’m enjoying it.  Change can be painful sometimes.

As a pundit put it yesterday “Tennessee is giving a more abject lesson in Critical Race Theory than any AP History course possibly could .”

As someone who is opposed to the ways in which CRT filters down into lower level curriculums, I find myself in a position of asking “are y’all trying to make their case for them you effing idiots?!”

When I first saw the video of these 3 idiots shouting on the house floor, I though they were protesters who had somehow gotten in. They're actions were inexcusable and they deserved to be punished. However, I do think expulsion went a bit too far. Now they've become martyrs for the liberal cause.

Our state leaders seem to be on a roll lately of trying to make all of us look bad. 🤬

Brothers n Sisters...

I'ma doubting the booting of these two thugs means anything in the big theme of things.   The state legislature was well within their rights to do this under the Tennessee State Constitution. They sent a powerful message to all by expelling these idiots.  The message is clear; " cause trouble, get sacked "...

The news is all over this because it is, in fact, a bold, decisive, move by the TN State legislature.  They love trouble and hate the Red States anyway.

The only thing I think that could have been done better, was to round up and charge the miscreants that participated in this clown show event and to have booted that damnable Gloria Johnson as well.  She has been causing trouble in Knoxville for a good while.

The great Demorat, Lindon B Johnson, the last Demorat I ever liked had a saying:. " If ya want ta get along... Go along "... These three opportunistic pieces of trash were standing on the new made graves of six people, and using thuggery to push a political agenda. They didn't go along, they tried to use the " bully, mayhem, and intimidation " approach.   This was basically an opportunistic temper tantrum because their pet legislation wasn't passed.

No one should care about em.  They are a minority in a majority opposition party state.  They can never become the majority with stupid antics like this.  I could care less what happens to this trash.  Neither should you.

The media squalling about the " mean Tennessee State Polititians" destroying " democracy " and unleashes " despotism " is the usual over the caterwauling.  Don't worry about it.

non worrying leroy...

So how do you stand on the issue of gun control?

I humbly disagree with many here. The major media and also the local media, are all extremely left leaning liberals and will never see the possible good this accomplished. Who cares what the rest of up north cares about us. I agree with what the Gov in the Ville did yesterday. These 2 will probably be sent back to the Gov body, and that is all right also, IMO. I doubt they will be bull horning in the well in the chamber anymore, if they do get back.  Great learning experience for all.

Edited to add; the women was not pounding on the rostrum, nor flashing signs to the cheap seats, nor bull horning. IMO that is why she didn't get booted.

As long as criminals can get guns, I WANT GUNS!  Therefore, I will ALWAYS be pro gun ownership.

I don’t think I’ve ever made any statements to the contrary.

No, I don’t think you have either. What bothers me is the people you seem to support sure have, however.

I will freely admit I don’t see how the woman didn’t get voted out of the two men did.

Regardless of whatever the reason really is, it appears it can be only a single reason. One the female rep herself made the suggestion it could be. As to any argument it’s anything else, we had a saying when I was in the Air Force.

“The appearance of impropriety is impropriety itself.”

It doesn’t matter what it is, it’s only what it looks like. To me and pretty much the rest of the country it looks like pure old school racism. Whomever the rep that voted differently for her is has got some serious ‘splainin to do.
